Reporting is a fundamental function, particularly in a decentralized structure. In addition to the FAOR Annual Reports, the Organization has introduced Regional Synthesis Reports and a Global Synthesis Report. Reports are expected to be provided according to the table below (the exact deadlines will be communicated every year).

The Guidelines for FAOR reporting, revised and issued in August 2016, are aligned to the new strategic framework and allow simpler consolidation and aggregation at higher levels. They focus on the overall performance of FAO in achieving country-level-results and related challenges and support needs. In addition, countries should identify lessons learned and highlight best practices for uptake across the Organization.
The French and Spanish versions of the Guidelines for Annual Report Preparation are available in the Documents box on the right hand side.
*Guidelines are updated on a regular basis. Offices are advised to use the most recent version, provided in the link on the right .
