- Refresher briefing sessions (group training), one year later
- Advanced briefing/training sessions (group training), including skills training
for AFAOR:
- Joint orientation/briefing sessions (AFAOR/P and AFAOR/A)

- Course on office management (AFAOR/A)
External to FAO
The External Training Programme (ETP) enables FAO staff to maintain and further develop their skills and competencies through the pursuit of training and study programmes and related developmental activities outside the Organization. It is intended to assist staff needing access to training and study programmes which are not organised internally.
The ETP is funded through a special allotment, managed by the Advisory Committee on External Training (ACET), within the framework of an overall budget allotment for professional, technical and external training.
The ACET reviews Office nomination of staff members’ requests for funding of external training programmes and allocates resources. Attached is a message from AFH/CSP on the subject.
In line with the transfer of responsibility, a staff member in a Country Office, after receiving approval from the immediate supervisor, should send the Form to her/his HR Officer for verification of the information and to the Regional Office for review and assurance of funding for cost sharing. Once approved, this form should be forwarded subsequently to the ACET Secretariat with a cover message (sample memorandum attached).
