MOSS Standard Requirements
for users with Security profiles only
Last updated in October 2014
How to get there
The module is available after login to specific users by clicking on "Countries & Offices" on the top navigation bar, then click on "Security" and "MOSS Standard Requirements".
The module is divided in two sections/tabs:
- the "Requirements" tab contains the general list of standard requirements set by UNDSS.
- the "Countries Requirements" tab allows to associate each FAOR building with the standard requirements approved by UNDSS for a specific country.
The general list of UNDSS standard requirements follows the structure of the UNDSS Interoffice Memorandum. It is maintained by the Field Security Unit at Headquarters and contains the following elements:
- the list of components,
- the list of sub-components,
- the list of requirements.
These elements follow a hierarchical order: a component contains several sub-components, and sub-components contain several requirements.
Components, sub-components and requirements can be added by using the "Add new .." links at the top of the screen.
The menu displayed by using the right-click button of the mouse allows to:
- Edit components, sub-components and requirements
- Delete requirements
The deletion of a requirement automatically removes the related requirement from all the countries.
How to manage countries requirements
The "Countries Requirements" tab provides the list of buildings hosting a Regional, Sub-regional or FAO Representation office. This list is generated automatically thanks to the interaction between the "MOSS Standard Requirements" module and the "Facilities Management" module, that contains all the data inserted by Field Offices related to the buildings hosting FAO staff in the world.

When a building is modified or inserted in the "Facilities Management" module, the changes are immediately reflected in the "MOSS Standard Requirements" module.
To associate a specific building to a requirement, select the record concerned and access the "Edit Requirements" menu by using the right-click of the mouse.
The form displayed provides the complete list of all requirements inserted in the module under the "Requirements" tab. The steps to indicate that a requirement is valid for the specific country are as follows:
- select the requirement by clicking on it,
- select 'Yes' in the 'Approved by UNDSS' column
- add the date of the UNDSS memorandum announcing that the requirement should be implemented in the "In force since" column
- click on the green tick to save, or click on the red cross to discard.
At this point, a "MOSS" tab is automatically created in the Facilities Management module of the related office. Any modification made to the "MOSS Standard Requirement" module is immediately reflected in the "Facilities Management" module.
