TeleFood Fund Projects
TeleFood is FAO's annual campaign of broadcasts, concerts and other events dedicated to help reduce the number of poor people in the world. The campaign centres around the observance of World Food Day, marking the founding of FAO on 16 October 1945.
The aim of TeleFood is to reach out and raise awareness about world hunger and to mobilize resources for hundreds of hunger-fighting projects. TeleFood is one of the responses to the 1996 World Food Summit's call to action to eradicate hunger.
Many small-scale projects which involve various sectors and communities have been launched in Indonesia as TeleFood projects.
Many grassroots groups are interested to establish activities to improve their living conditions. The beneficiaries groups have gradually been able to improve their welfare. Direct funding to grass-roots organisations have been very well received.
