Mr. Mustapha SINACEUR
Mr Sinaceur, a national of Morocco, holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Jurisprudence from the Faculty of Economics and Jurisprudence, Mohammed V University, Rabat, Morocco. He began his career in 1977, in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, as Associate Officer responsible for research in the Economic Research Unit (Prices and Markets) of the Economic Affairs Division. From 1979 to 1980, he was Executive Officer responsible for research in the Department of Economic Studies at the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE); then, from 1980 to 1982, he was Executive Officer responsible for research in the Small and Medium Industries Division of the Operations Evaluation Department of BNDE. In 1982, he was appointed Deputy Head of the BNDE Representation in Casablanca and then Head of the BNDE Representation in Agadir for the Southern Provinces. In 1983, he became Head of the BNDE Representation in Oujda for Eastern Morocco and, in 1985, Inspector at BNDE Head Office. From 1985 to 1990, he served as Directeur de Cabinet (responsible for forests and water resources from 1985 to 1987) in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Rabat, Morocco. From 1990 to 1993, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation as Deputy Permanent Representative to FAO, Rome, Italy (from September 1991 to December 1993, he was a Member of the Finance Committee of FAO and, in 1993, Chairman of Commission II of the FAO Conference). From 1994 to 2000, he was FAO Representative in the Syrian Arab Republic. From 2000 to present, he has been Subregional Representative for North Africa and FAO Representative in Tunisia. Mr Sinaceur succeeds Mr A. Tabet as Subregional Coordinator for Central Asia.
